Help us to keep on building

KEITH SILVERTON

KeithCC

Keith first joined us as a volunteer in February 2016, when he worked with us for four weeks and helped to build houses for two families. He now works as our volunteer coordinator.

Following university, a graduate of architecture, he embarked on a number of life changing journeys around the world. He has travelled extensively in Latin America, and found himself returning time and again.

Keith is from the UK, and following several years of settled life working as an Examinations Officer within Prison Education in London, he found the pull of a return to Guatemala irresistible.

"This time I wanted to do more than just travel. I had seen the extreme poverty that people endure here and wanted to find a way to help, first by getting my hands dirty volunteering, and now by assisting others that want to do the same. The most rewarding part of working for Constru Casa is when I have the honour of visiting the families in their new home and they tell me that we have delivered a dream. What we do is simple, but the joy and gratitude that they express is beyond words." Says Keith on his experience working with Constru Casa.
